Who I am

I am a DIRAC Fellow at the University of Washington. I am an astronomer by training, but I currently spend most of my time developing and maintaining open source astronomy software. I occasionally still observe the night sky, however. I recently become the lead developer of astroML, and also maintain several packages in the Astropy Project. I have a keen interest in finding ways to promote the open development model and make tools more sustainable. I am a fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute.
